Officers |

All officers in Viking are required to complete the AEPSM (Aerospace Education Program for Senior Members). This entails reading and becoming knowledgeable with the content found in the textbook Aerospace: The Journey of Flight. After reviewing the textbook, officers must then successfully complete an open-book test based on that information. The test is referred to as the Yeager test. Aerospace: The Journey of Flight is available on line (.pdf format) through the CAP National website. Click the image to the right to access. Note: The squadron also has two hardcopies available for checkout. The Yeager Test is also available on-line through CAP e-Services(login is required). There is an option to take a hardcopy version of the test as well, see the squadron AEO for details. The test takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour to complete and is open book. The percentage needed to pass is 70%, correctable to 100%. If the exam is completed on-line, print out the certificate of completion and give it to the Squadron AEO. It’s also suggested that officers keep a copy for their records. After the squadron AEO receives the certificate of completion, a CAPC 20 (Yeager Award Certificate) and CAPF 127 (Certification) will be completed and sent to National HQ. NHQ will then issue the actual Yeager Certificate (see image below) and the officer will be authorized to wear the Yeager ribbon. |
